"Essentially… if you are going to accept that honor, wear it with honor." What is your working definition of honor here?

Also, this got me thinking about the courage needed to evoke such honor.

Courage to carry the weight of said honor.

"The root of the word comes from K.V.D, which means heavy, so it's commonly thought that when you honor someone (meaning showing them respect), it means you give it a weight, and dont treat it lightly."

Not everyone seems them self strong enough to carry the weight honor bestows.

Even more so that honor that God deserve from us- it feels a bit lost in the modern world...

"That which is valued and esteemed is “honored.” The biblical use sometimes also means to seek to enhance the reputation of someone. The biblical emphasis on honoring others has everything to do with the biblical command to honor God. Honor in the Bible typically has a communal, even public, meaning."

Public meaning you carry the presense of God openly, without shame and without hiding that honor and, might I say with a sense of some pride? Could that be the appropiete use of pride?

Anywho, great post. Enjoyable read. Thanks for bringing light this passage as it always seemed to make me squint my eyes and leave feeling underdressed for life.
